Pastor has compared our church-building campaign to the journey of the Israelites in the wilderness. There were many unknowns, but the test was to trust in the Lord. The Lord was still with them- there was a cloud. When the cloud would move, God’s presence was with them and continued to be with them and lead.
We don’t always see where God is directing us, and sometimes we don’t realize it was God until much later. When we are walking in His Spirit, we know our steps are ordered. If God leads you to it, He’ll bring you through it.
In my own life, I can see where some of my husband’s work relocation to new areas or churches developed our ministries and our contribution to the kingdom. I’ve had a lot of change in my lifetime, mixed with periods of waiting. The only time I’ve ever had complete peace and joy is when I had a relationship with God, obeying, studying, ministering, fasting, believing, trusting, and walking in confidence.
Our church has been given a word- let’s worship and rejoice in the waiting, thankful, and believing God that when He moves the cloud, we will be ready to follow.
